My name’s Tim Martyn. I’m an English language teacher from Australia. I started Radius English to help motivated learners prepare for IELTS, PTE and TOEFL.

It’s a bit weird, I know, but I love everything about tests. As a student, I’ve taken many language tests (in both French and Spanish). I enjoy preparing for them and I think you can learn a lot from the process. As a teacher, I find it very rewarding to help students get the score they need to be accepted into their desired course or move to a new country.

I’ve been teaching since 2006. My first job was in Spain, where I taught general English to kids, teenagers and adults. I then moved to Belgium, where I also taught general English, as well as in-company business English courses. Since returning to Australia, I’ve mainly focused on academic English. I’ve taught on many pre-sessional (direct-entry) academic English courses in university language centres, helping students from many different countries improve their speaking and writing skills.

In addition to teaching, I’ve been involved in the development of online and face-to-face courses as well as high-stakes tests for university language centres. I’ve also written practice items and other materials to help students prepare for popular large-scale English language tests. I offer my writing services to publishers, universities and EdTech companies.
